Belle Terre Library in Marrero Reopens

Belle Terre Library in Marrero celebrated their new renovations at their ribbon-cutting ceremony in November. The million-dollar renovation included additional space and refurbished space.

The completed project now includes a building square footage of 7,375.  The additions included a meeting room, manager’s office, staff lounge and storage areas for mechanical and technical equipment.

The interior renovations included new carpet and ceiling tiles, freshly painted walls, new restrooms, LED lighting, new furniture, new shelving, new cabinets, new technological equipment, network equipment, wireless devices and state-of-the-art audio-visual systems computer work stations. One of the most exciting new features is the two interactive LCD 86″ display screens located in the new meeting room. The displays will host both classes and video conferencing.

The Jefferson Parish Library is also adding in-person computer classes. These classes include basic computer skills, Microsoft PowerPoint 1, Microsoft PowerPoint 2, How to Join Virtual Meetings and Job Hunting in the Digital Age.

The library system wants to not only be the place to go for library books but also a place to come for high-speed internet, access to the latest computer technology, entertainment programs and educational programs. The Library strives to make a positive difference in our community, helping the citizens of Jefferson Parish move toward the future with confidence.
