When the Krewe of Black & Gold was formed in 2019, it aimed to honor New Orleans’ beloved football team and the rich cultural heritage of the city, including its traditions and cultural bearers. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 disrupted these initial plans, leading to widespread event cancellations and significant loss of life.
